Harry Potter is the lead character and protagonist in a novel series written by J. K. Rowling. The novels come under the fiction and fantasy genre. The novels were all best sellers and have sold over 450 million copies. While the novels were primarily not for adults, they were read and enjoyed by children as well as adults alike. All the novels were very well received.

The Role of Harry Potter[edit]

Harry Potter is an eleven-year old orphan who lives with his cruel aunt and uncle. But on his eleventh birthday, he gets his acceptance letter from Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. While his aunt and uncle are reluctant to let him go, with the help of Hagrid, Harry leaves for Hogwarts.

Harry Potter is a very selfless and caring boy. Being an orphan and mistreated by his uncle and aunt, Harry is sensitive to others needs and values relations. He grows very close to the Weasleys, the family of his friend Ronald Weasley, and is almost like their family member. Later, in the final novel, Harry marries Ron's sister, Ginny Weasley.

Harry is neither greedy nor power hungry. While he is somewhat an average student, he is an exceptional Quidditch player and becomes a Seeker in his first year at Hogwarts. Harry and his friends frequently find themselves in serious troubles, and even if they don't, they end up finding some for themselves. But together, Harry, Ron, and their friend Hermione, save the day.

Is Harry Potter Evil?[edit]

Harry Potter is not evil by any means. He has a pure heart which is why he is able to get the philosopher's stone from the Mirror of Erised. This was to show how innocent and pure Harry was. Throughout the series, we never see Harry do anything evil. Even when competing against someone or when others give him a hard time, he never truly harms anyone.
