Hi,

Just started the brickwork on my first pizza oven.

Having trouble finding fire blanket type insulation here in Thailand but I can source vermiculite and perlite here.

Is a mix of either material with cement powder/water good enough to insulate an oven ?

Also the base is a 4" thick reinforced concrete slab with 3" thick fire bricks on top, does the slab need insulation under it ?
